I feel like last night was a dream! I never thought I would get the chance to work as the operations manager for T-Pain’s concert and on top of that, pull it off. And if you are wondering, I totally did. T-Pain performed with Nando at Grand Valley State University on Saturday, 01 April 2023 and it had an amazing turn out! In fact, the show was SOLD OUT! 

Throughout the whole show, the crowd was lively and vibrant; T-Pain knows how to keep the energy high with a crowd. Prior to the show, I met with the production team and did a walkthrough to solidify that everything was ready and prepared for the artist to perform at his best. From ensuring that the green room was set up exactly how it should be to double checking that the artist’s arrival and the sound checks were on time. Between an enthusiastic crowd and a hardworking team, this show was one for the books!

Only one minor challenge presented itself but because of an awesome team, I had no doubt we would overcome it! The pipe and drape in front of the door that was establishing the artist’s privacy kept blowing every time the door was opening. To assure T-Pain’s privacy, we clipped the pipe and drape together with binder clips and secured the bottom with weights. Like I said – awesome team, awesome solution!

Nothing beats the feeling of looking around to see cheerful and smiling students and staff during a great show. I just love seeing the audience having a fantastic time! 

Grand Valley State University was a pleasure to work with and I will be looking forward to the next great event we execute together. It was such a great opportunity to work with amazing people! 

The night was such a dream and I am ecstatic that I was able to contribute to a successful event. Can’t wait for the next one!
