Dedicated to the craft of songwriting, country duo Karli & James bring an undeniable chemistry to the stage. Their lyrics are autobiographical yet universal, while their inviting sound blends the traditional country music and indie rock vibe legacy that shaped them. Karli leans pure country; James leans indie rock, and the result is a refreshingly modern blend. Not bad for what started as a chance encounter at a Nashville coffee shop! The couple’s partnership (professionally and personally) creates a musical dialogue that is often biographical, yet their lyrics are convincingly universal.
In addition to refining their musical niche, Karli & James have spent the last few years honing their live performance chops and building an audience. They have played in historic venues in Nashville (such as the Bluebird Café and Country Music Hall of Fame) and have a residency at beloved downtown Nashville institution, Puckett’s . Outside of Nashville they have opened for Brandy Clark (in the US & UK), Lonestar, Uncle Kracker, Casey Donahew, Thompson Square, Mark Chesnutt, Sara Evans, Tracy Lawrence and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band as well as performance slots at various music festivals.
