Lacie is a graduate of the Music Industry Management (MIM) program at Ferris State University in Michigan. Entertainment Unlimited, the campus programming board at Ferris, gave Lacie the opportunity to serve as a Programming Coordinator, Hospitality Co-head and Head Coordinator position for the annual major event benefit concert. With the programming board, she was able to go to two consecutive NACA (National Association of Campus Activities) conferences where she was able to network with agents and artists. In college, Lacie was also the Comedian and Finance Chair for the Student Homecoming Committee and an assistant in the leadership office. Lacie was able to book shows with artists including Frankie Ballard, A Thousand Horses, Nick Offerman of NBC’s tv series “Parks and Recreation”, Kevin “DOTCOM” Brown of NBC’s tv series “30 Rock”, Nickelodeon’s Kel Mitchell, Upright Citizens Brigade TourCo improv comedy group, and more.
The Music Industry Management Association (MIMA) program at Ferris is a student-operated model production company that gives students the opportunity for a real-world experience outside of the classroom for areas such as stage, hospitality, booking, security, etc. Lacie was able to have a hand in various events that featured Zeds Dead, The Accidentals, The Millenium, and Rival Summers among others. MIMA also gave her the opportunity to be a team leader of the committee for event planning, talent buying and hospitality.
Before graduating, Lacie completed two internships: one as a promotions intern for Midwest Communications (WNCY, WIXX, JACK FM) in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the second as a Junior Agent with Degy for 7 months. This internship experience was valuable because she was able to see the other side of planning events, compared to the student side.
