Introducing the brand new touring dance party from the guys who brought you Headphone Disco and Throwback Time Machine – DJ Spin’s MUSICAL ROULETTE.

Get ready to take part and bust some moves on the dance-floor with the most exciting and interactive student party ever.  Imagine a dance party where the music is controlled by the people on the dancefloor…where the dj has no idea what styles he needs to play next…where Hip Hop takes on Pop and EDM… This is MUSICAL ROULETTE!

At every Musical Roulette party the stage is set with our 6ft tall all signing all dancing spinning wheel of fortune style roulette wheel.  The DJ takes stage beside the wheel and invites students up onto the stage area every 15 minutes to give it a spin, where the wheel stops no one knows, but when it does stop it selects a specific genre of the music.  Its then over to our superstar DJ who will cut up and scratch his way through that style until its time to spin the wheel again!  No 2 Musical Roulette shows will ever be the same as its down to the wheel to determine whats next!

Don’t worry if there’s a style of music you don’t want on the wheel, we can swap the genres about to tailor the party to suit.

Hailing from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Black Tie Stereo has captivated audiences throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. With a six-song EP and two singles released since their formation (with much more on the way), the group has already made a great jump into the original music scene. This young and energetic quartet has influences stemming from every genre of music, and therefore can appeal to any crowd. They feature soaring synths, pounding drums, rich bass, and funky guitar; all of which contribute to their full sound and high-energy stage presence. BTS is a young and dedicated group driven to take the entire music industry by storm.

Driven by sound, Andreas has always pushed musical boundaries. He is always trying to stretch, grow, and in turn, hone his sound. The writer, producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, was raised in Upstate NY. Kevin began assembling bands in high school and started playing gigs on the weekends. He found himself jamming with adult musicians and being able to keep up. “That’s how I started learning how to connect with audiences, and how to create music,” he says. Kevin has a virtuosic gift when it comes to the guitar, but not one to be pinned down, he plays several other instruments as well.

In his late teens, Kevin Andreas began teaching guitar lessons and learning audio engineering. At the age of twenty-two he was able to relocate to New York City and opened his own recording studio in Williamsburg. Kevin spent time behind the spotlight as a sideman, studio musician, singer/writer, and producer. During this time, he co-wrote and sang the hook on, A$AP Rocky’s breakout hit, “Peso.” He is also the musical director for comedienne Sandra Bernhard.

Andreas released an introductory project for fans that took off beyond expectation. Vents Magazine called it “sexy, haunting and utterly awesome” while Paste Magazine cited the song as an “empowering anthem that combines energetic instrumentation and rock bombast with a soft, soulful melody.” A track was featured on Filtr’s Spotify “NEW MUSIC” playlist, as well as Filtr’s “Artists to Watch” Spotify playlist. By late 2016, the track had garnered enough acclaim to warrant Spotify to place it on “Discover Weekly,” leading the track to garner 75k+ streams, all while still completely independent. Kevin just released his brand new single, “FRIEND$” in July of 2017. The new track has a soulful summer vibe, that features a catchy hook and an undeniable bouncy beat.

Kevin was chosen to perform as direct support for Sabrina Carpenter (Hollywood Records) at Musikfest, and has also opened for Andy Grammer. He has performed at notable NYC venues such as Highline Ballroom, Brooklyn Bowl, Gramercy Theater and Webster Hall. Kevin continues to perform in and around NYC and will be touring this upcoming fall / winter.

Andreas is currently finishing up his debut solo LP and is looking to release the album in the coming months. Tracks featuring Andreas’ otherworldly guitar playing, along with his contemporary pop and hip-hop sensibilities, will be highlighted on the LP. The new single “FRIEND$” and the forthcoming album are poised to launch Andreas to a larger audience and continued success.

Headphone Disco are the inventors of the ‘silent dance party’ format and have been touring the world for the past 7 years.
Performing some huge college shows led to them being voted ‘Best Novelty Act’ 2013 by the readers of Campus Activities Magazine in March of last year. So how does it work?
We arrive at your school (or showcase!) with our 2 resident DJs and our 2 channel wireless headphones
Our DJs spin 2 different styles of music side by side over 2 different wireless channels.
Guests select which DJ they want to listen to using the switch on their headphones (provided by us) then get busy on the dancefloor.
Imagine a dancefloor where one half of the crowd are singing along to One Direction while the other half are doing The Wobble! Bizarre, mind-blowing but most of all a huge amount of fun.

Headphone Disco will be showcasing (Special Events) October 20th at 10:45pm AND will have a booth next to our Degy booth.

Dakaboom is a music/comedy duo from New York and Los Angeles. Described only as postmodern vaudeville, their show must be experienced to be understood. Long time best friends Ben McLain and Paul Peglar utilize a cappella, loop stations, stand-up, sketch, crowd interaction and several musical genres to create a world all their own – and everyone’s invited. Impressive talent mixed with unique humor makes the duo something brand new and yet altogether familiar to current audiences. Everyone leaves feeling better than when they arrived – with free hugs to boot.

Ben McLain has made appearances on General Hospital though spends most of his free time in Los Angeles with electronic vocal band ARORA, featured on Season 3 of NBC’s The Sing Off under their former name Sonos. In his own time, Ben pursues his passion of producing alternative electronica and pop music.

Actor/musician Paul Peglar has worked extensively with internet stars (Chester See, Lana McKissack, The Kloons) and was the original piano player on the first season of Fox’s Glee. After three summers as Music Director of TASIS (The American School in Switzerland) he moved to NYC and resides in Brooklyn. Paul is also a member of international band The Haze touring summers with them throughout Europe.

With a studio album (“Get Awesome”) and DVD (“Live In Los Angeles”) already out, Dakaboom spends most their year touring colleges across the country. The past few years have seen them hosting/headlining the Los Angeles A Capella Festival at USC, Chicago’s ACappellaFest, Mile High Vocal Jam in Colorado; sailing as guest performers aboard the Diamond Princess through Alaska; and lending their talents to AIDS benefits across California.

LIGHT IT UP: Be the DJ (Dance Party and Master Class)

With superstar DJs like Skrillex and Deadmau5 selling out arena tours and with more kids picking up turntables than are picking up guitars it seems that we really are in an era where ‘everyone wants to be a DJ’.

With our unique event that’s exactly what your students will be able to do. They can learn the skills required from our resident DJs at our hands-on ‘Be The DJ’ masterclass and then put them to use in front of their fellow students by spinning at our insane ‘Light It Up’ dance party.

On one side our event is a unique and truly interactive experience based on ‘learning outcomes’ designed to teach students about creative expression through turntablism and DJ culture. On the other it’s a massive dance-party designed to drive footfall to your late night programming and most importantly to be fun! Educational, inspirational and a great night out.

He has drawn on his multi cultural background and experiences to tell his story in music and lyrics. His skillful blend of soul, reggae and blues coupled with infectious hook lines and tremendous vocal abilities transport the listener into the musical story being told. Nelson has been compared to the likes of Seal and Sting, with a little John Mayer thrown in as he mixes a little calypso, a little Afro-beat and a lot of soul into a winning and charming style that is always a crowd pleaser. His journey has so far been very complex, including an appearance on NBC’s Season 3 of The Voice, but he has found a better way; his story will be crafted into melodies and dressed up with some lyrics and rhymes and played for you!
