Organization Description:
Degy Booking International, Inc, an international booking agency responsible for nearly 3000 events a year, and Degy World, LLC., a virtual events platform company are commonly and collectively referred to as Degy Entertainment. The agency operational focuses primarily in non-traditional markets including colleges, military bases, festivals, PACs, sports teams, corporations, malls, and more. In addition to exclusively representing over 100+ entertainment acts & dance events, the agency is one of the largest talent-buying companies in the world for national music artists, comedians, speakers and celebrities. Degy World is an immersive, virtual avatar platform company comprised of over fifty spaces including music stages, expo halls, auditoriums, meeting spaces, and more to offer virtual solutions to clients.

Position Description:
The Agent Assistant position will directly report to an experienced, senior booking agent in the Degy office. Learning on the job, the Agent Assistant will spend 1+ years (generally 18 months) training as an assistant while being groomed to assume a full-time booking agent role. The goal is for this individual to learn the complete job of a booking agent, develop a book of active booking clients, and then transitioning into the role as a full time, commission-based agent.

Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Handling heavy telephone calls (inbound and outbound), emails, and other forms of communication to potential buyers, current clients, agencies, managers, and the like;
• Assisting and supporting all working needs of the Booking Agent including the preparation of offer sheets, proposals, research, and more;
• Creating outgoing requisitions and RFPs along with pitching clients;
• Participating and overseeing lead generation initiatives;
• Booking and contracting shows;
• Inputting data consistently into the database system and researching new data and leads for the agent (this may involve extensive online work and research);
• Traveling to events, conferences/conventions, or meetings;
• General office related duties.

Qualifications:
Candidates should be aggressive, confident, sales-oriented individual with good communication skills. Must have good phone skills, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to participate right from the start. Should be comfortable with the internet, social media, and other online platforms. Must know how to navigate work, excel, powerpoint, outlook, and other similar Microsoft Office 365 suite programs. Individuals should be able to work in a business environment, but with a comfortable, laid back demeanor. Hours will be long and demanding as agent assistant will be dedicated to the business needs of the agent they report to. Some travel will be required to support events and develop relationships at both meetings and conventions.

Wage/Salary:
$35,000.00 Base Yearly Salary
– Two (2) full-calendar years with company to qualify into the company’s pension program.
– Vacation time.
– Expenses covered (office, cell phone service, computer, travel).
– Cell phone covered through company phone plan.

– Flexible hours.

Work Location:
This is a mobile/work-from-home position. All Degy employees (including agents and support teams) work independently and remotely from their home market. However, they are prepared to travel at any time.

Position Description:
The BOOKING AGENT or TALENT BUYER position will directly report to an experienced, senior booking agent in the Degy office. Agent will preferably come in with a book of their own clients (either artists or talent buying accounts) and then be assigned additional clients while at the company. Degy’s agents vary in their roles. Some are traditional
BOOKING AGENTS which handle the direct bookings and calendars of roster clients. Others are TALENT BUYERS who serve in one (or more) of the company’s non-traditional venue streams acting as a talent buyer for buying clients.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Internship Description: 

This internship will provide hands on experience with business in the music industry while still remaining safe in a remote setting. Although there will be no physical attendance, there will be face-to-face contact within the virtual event center, Degy World. Interns will give tours, oversee events, work with agents, and speak with current or potential clients to understand the conduction of business while also making connections. Additional projects will also be assigned outside of Degy World for interns to complete. These may include researching and collecting information and data for the company,creating marketing/publicity campaigns, outreach and engagement with clients, and more. Depending on background and interest, interns will be working side by side with Degy Entertainment staff to enhance their skills and prepare for the work force, excelling in their specific fields.

Qualifications:  

  • Confident and dynamic individuals whose passion not only spans for music and entertainment but for the business world that surrounds them.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, while understanding confidentiality
  • Must be have strong initiative and be reliable for events
  • Possess good judgment collaboration, organization, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Be able to anticipate needs and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
  • Have knowledgeable with using internet, social media, and other various online platforms. 
  • Have a good attitude – remain professional as it is a business environment, but with a comfortable and laid-back demeanor.

Responsibilities:
Interns will participate in at least 10 Degy World events. The Internship will also entail assisting with a variety of administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Eligibility:

Any student in an undergraduate or graduate program, and even post graduate applicants can apply! There are no restrictions on declared majors, degree program, course of study, or age limit.

Wage/Salary:  

Internship is unpaid, but Degy will help students receive college credit (if applicable).  

Days/Hours Per Week:  

The internship program lasts for 13 weeks, and applicant must be committed to work a minimum of 10 hours a week over at least 3 days, but are welcomed and encouraged to put in as much extra time as desired and possible. Time requirements are flexible based on student’s schedule or outside work responsibilities. This will be discussed during interview and hiring process.
